Chapter 7    Does God Exist ?                                                       

Now in studying man so far we can come to a few conclusions. Man develops conceptions, ideas, attitudes, perceptions which are a result of being in a particular environment. This is only normal and natural. To understand ourselves we must come to see how we are shaped and molded by the atmosphere we must live in. Our concepts of who we are and what we are is determined by the environment - mainly the social environment.  We are all social creatures and products of our family, and society in general. Children are absolutely dependant upon parents for a long time of their lives. The dependency period varies, but we could say an average would be about 18 - 20 years. By the time a person has reached that age they are full of ideas, attitudes and perceptions. Many of these ideas may have been developed through personal experience. A lot of them came to us second hard and we just accepted them.

People go to a particular church and so they just pick up the ideas of that particular religion. They live in a certain part of the country and just pick up from others the same attitude from those around them. Then when we get older these points of view have been incorporated into a particular vision we have in our mind of the world. Add all the factors together and you come up with a distinct culture where a large number of people sort of think and dress and talk in a similar way.

In the land currently called Canada (as of 2002) some people complain there is no real culture.  The reason for this is simple. This land was originally inhabited by the natives. There were different tribes of aboriginals who had their own distinct territory such as the Cree, Stoney, Blackfoot, Blood or Algonquin. The natives were not one people but divided up into many different tribes or nations. There is also the Inuit people in the North. When Europeans came, they came from many different lands - from France, England, Germany, Scotland, Ireland, Ukraine, Sweden, Norway, and now later on in our history we are seeing people who came from almost every corner of the globe such as India, China, Africa, Viet Nam and Eastern Europe, Lebanon and Egypt. These people all bring with them their own peculiar visions, perceptions, points of views which were developed by being in their own native land. So when you mix all these different people together you can't expect to have one distinct culture, because there are just too many differences. So our government has come up with the idea of promoting multiculturalism and thinking along the line of looking at Canada as being an cultural mosaic.

Now if we want to develop one clear distinct culture here is one way to do it (this is just a hypothetical example - I do not recommend this be done at all). In Alberta for example just cut back immigration and major outside influences for a couple of generations. Work it so people in Alberta would intermarry and settle down here permanently. Discourage traveling outside and encourage people to come together and be as one people. After a number of generations you would see a clearly distinct Albertan culture develop. We would be different from other people and even begin to look and dress in a distinct manner. In fact this is already evident here because Albertans have a different way of pronouncing words than people from parts of Eastern Canada and especially the Maritimes and Newfoundland. Words are kind of dragged out and there is sort of a Western drawl. So a distinct culture would easily develop. 

Actually if we were smart we would just not put any artificial barriers in the way and just let the culture develop in its own way. However what we see are attempts to impose a particular cultural vision upon the people. However the natural process is being blocked and hindered by those who seek to impose and force their own cultural vision on us. 

People come to Alberta and too often seek to impose their foreign point of view on Alberta. They come to an extremely different environment, and wish to impose their own ideas or perceptions onto us. The west is not the east and so why try to maintain something which won't work in this environment. Many immigrants complain about how cold it is here with all the snow. Oh how dreary and bleak it is, and how they wish the sun would be warmer. This is Alberta ! There is no use in complaining about it,  because that won't change anything, so you might as well get used to it and after a while you will like the snow.

If we let the culture grow naturally instead of trying to force  our own narrow vision upon others, we would be better off. Stop putting all these barriers in front of nature. Then you wouldn't have one little group pulling this way and another that way and causing divisions. Instead of each pulling in a separate direction why not see the way nature is going and get in line. The result would be a unique culture much richer and more alive than it is now. Culture must be dynamic if it is to truly serve the interests of the people. People do not stay the same. Why should we be forced into some cultural mold and then become hardened just like a granite statue ?

As a result of these divisions Canadians have an identity crisis. We are encouraged to hang onto the dead cultural past, but must live in the world here and now. Immigrants seem to come here looking for something distinctively Canadian to identify with, but see nothing. Instead they are encouraged to maintain their ethnic identity, but this just causes nothing but divisions and misunderstandings. So here people are kind of living in two worlds. People just spend all their time talking about how different they are and so about the only thing we have in common is our differences.

Now what has all this got to do with whether God exists or not ?   Let us simplify a complex subject. Everyone develops attitudes, points of view and perceptions as a result of being exposed to certain environments. This is how we explain the world to ourselves. Ideas, perceptions, and concepts are often combined together and given form and so you end up with a religion. Religion is a pre-arranged, and fixed way of looking at the world. People turn to religion in the hopes of finding the answers to life. Religions offer explanations to this life and so many people are religious - they identify with a particular faith. This religion gives them an identity. It gives them an orientation - something to build their lives around. Man must have something to build and orientate his life around. Religion offers people a ready made mold, that they may cast themselves into. So the problem of identity is solved by association with a fixed set of beliefs, perceptions and concepts. The problem of orientation and meaning given to life is also solved by identifying with a particular religion. Man must have an identity and a system of orientation, because that is just his nature. No person can live sanely without such a system.

For many people their culture offers them the identity and orientation they need. They model themselves after the cultural patterns at hand and this can be more or less like a religion to them. The culture they follow may be in the mainstream, or it could be just a small sub-culture. However, this is enough to give people what they need so they won't go crazy. 

So to sum up - everyone must out of necessity build and orientate their life around something. This is usually a religion on cultural patterns which people identify with. This is to them just like a god. People follow their religion or cultural patterns and so this is their god.

Chapter 8    The Bible

In the Bible there is a God described for us. This God is a very peculiar God in that He claims to be the only one and true God. He says that all the other gods do not exist or are just phonies.

Isaiah 45 : 5-6    " I am they Lord and there is none else, there is no God beside me. I guided thee, through thou hast not known me. That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there was none beside me, I am the Lord, and there is none else."

This God also says that it is He who created the universe and the earth and man.

Isaiah 45 : 12    " I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded. "

Deuteronomy 4 : 35    " Unto thee it was showed, that thou mightest know that the Lord he is God, there is none else beside him."

This God claims to have made the heavens and earth and man. He also commands people to follow Him and put Him first in their lives.

Mark 12 : 29-30   " And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel ; The Lord our God is one Lord. And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength : this is the first commandment."

This God also commands obedience from men. He commands men to put Him first in their lives and put away other gods.

Exodus 20 : 1-3   " And God spoke all these words, saying, I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thy out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me."

Ezekiel 14 : 5-6     " That I may take the House of Israel in their own heart, because they are all estranged from me through idols. Therefore, say unto the House of Israel, thus saith the Lord God ; Repent, and turn yourselves from your idols ; and turn away your faces from all your abominations."

This one who claims to be the only true God says that the way for men to worship him is to obey Him. He says that if we follow His ways and His commandments and laws and statutes then we will be His people and He will be our God. You make Him your God when you follow His ways. If you don't follow Him then He says you have another God before Him.

Jeremiah 7 : 23    " But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people, and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you. "

Now when we ask ourselves whether God exists or not there are certain things which are self-evident. If God exists then he cannot be the creation of man. He must be the creator of the universe and man or else He is not God. If I make a god and then bow down before it then how can this be the real God. It isn't because I am the one who made it.

In the same way, if man develops a religion then how can they say it comes from God ?  If you or I decide to go out and start a religion of our own then it is our own invention and so subject to us. We can change it to suit our own fancy. We can compromise with this principle and that concept and not worry, because it is our own invention. If God exists then He cannot be the invention of men, otherwise He ceases to be God, but just our own creation. This is a serious issue because people forget that religion is the invention of man. Religion has got nothing to do with God. God does not have a religion. If God had a religion then the religion would be greater than Him. If God has to follow a religion, then the religion is god. Man could not have invented God, because if he did then man is God. However we know very well that man is not a God, but merely flesh and blood and subject to death just like any other living animal. Men did not create the universe.

The argument is used by many well educated people that " man created God in his own image." However this is impossible and incompatible with the concept of God. God must of created us and the earth and universe, because otherwise he isn't God. The definition of God is this - that he is the Supreme Being, the creation and ruler of the universe. The one who calls Himself God in the Bible claims to be just that Supreme Being. So either He is, or someone is trying to fool you. 

If we will be aware of the world and ourselves we must look at all the possibilities: A scientist does not make his mind up before hand to ignore certain things. He looks into everything and gets the facts. So if we want to be true scientists then we cannot dismiss the Bible, but must study into it and whether the claims made there are valid. If the things written there can be proved to be merely myths then we can dismiss this whole concept of God as is explained in the Bible. However if what is written there can be proved in the real world and what it says jives with the real world then it is true. In studying into this subject we must be honest with ourselves and put away prejudice. To thine own self be true.

In the next chapter we shall be dealing with the theory of evolution. This is because this theory is considered by many scientists to be fact not theory. However, there are major, glaring flaws in the theory. Let us be true to ourselves and get the facts, and not simply accept something without proving it. 

Chapter 9       FLAWS IN THE THEORY OF EVOLUTION

First of all here is a simple description of what this theory states. 

First of all scientists say that probably the universe came into existence when a giant ball or primeval atom exploded. This is the big bang theory and so this original ball blew up and so the universe came into existence. The sun, scientists speculate, came into existence when an enormous cloud or disk of dust and gas condensed or came together. The earth they say probably came into existence the same way but a little later than the sun. Scientist say the earth is around 4,500,000,000 years old  (4.5 billion years). Recent speculation is that it may be much older perhaps up to 10 billion years or so.

Now how did life start ? Well the theory states that the earth in its early years probably had a lot of gases and liquids on its surface. There probably wasn't an atmosphere like the one today. The sun shone down on earth but there was no atmosphere like today. So certain rays such as ultra-violet could get right through to the surface. So the scientists speculate that there was storms on earth with much lightening, and this combined with all the liquids and gases and the solid earth along with the sun's heat and rays, formed a sort of soup. This it is said probably led to the formation of very simple molecules such as sugars and amino acids.

In some way these very simple structures came into existence and over eons of  time, millions of millions of years, these tiny structures combined together to form bigger and more complicated molecules. Eventually they came alive or life began. These little bits of life called molecules then came to be able to reproduce themselves. At first there must of been one kind of molecule, but over the course of time they diversified, and so there were many different kinds of molecules (A molecule is the smallest part or an element or compound). Gradually over multimillions and millions of years these molecules changed and combined together in different forms until today we have an amazing diversity in living organism. The varieties of these early "living" molecules which competed most successfully for the resources available and reproduced most rapidly apparently must have pushed out and overcome other less competitive molecules. So the process just continued on and on. One set of molecules gradually became organized together and became more and more complex.

Self-reproducing molecules are called by science nucleic acids and the most vital of these is DNA or deoxyribonucleic acid. These acids organize matter around them to form cells. The cell is a functional unit containing the machinery for maintenance, growth and reproduction. So organisms consist of cells or organized groups of cells. So if the cells are higher organized and with many doing specialized jobs you end up with a highly evolved creature like man. So man is a complex organism.

So there is your theory of evolution. I could go into more detail but my brain may not be able to handle the strain. So to be on the safe side we shall leave it at that. It is very difficult to write on this subject. 

You look into these books explaining about evolution and the words are not too common. They give you all the Geological Periods and it is almost impossible relating to them. Here are some of the names for geological periods; Quaternary, Tertiary, Cretaceous and Permean. Then the names given to dinosaurs are simply beyond my ability to even pronounce some of them. Iquanodon, Rhamphorhynchus and Brontosaur are just a few and it is almost impossible to relate to such creatures. Probably many people are simply overwhelmed by all the graphs that the evolutionists make and the strange kind of names for ages and creatures. A person hears about all these old bones - er  fossils that they dig up and they say it belongs to such and such a dinosaur, that lived in whatever age they say, and so many millions of years ago, maybe 10,000 million or 50,000 million  - who knows.

Now you begin to think that surely these guys have it all figured out. They are the products of our best universities and golly they are well educated, so they must know something. So surely we must just shut our mouths and listen to these people, because they have to be on the right track.

But how can we be sure what they say happened ? No one was there and the fossils have been dug up, but how can we prove whether their interpretation of them is accurate ?  Can we see evolution at work right before our eyes ? Can it be proved to be true by personal firsthand observation and reasoning in the living world ? 

Perhaps the educators will say that ordinary folks like us are not educated enough to understand these things on our own. We need the help of experts. Yeah right ! This is the same thing your Priest, Minister, Lawyer, Economist or Politician will tell you. Just believe and trust them, because they have the right answers !! Well I will believe it when I see the proof, and if it can't be proved firsthand to my own satisfaction, then I will throw it out. If it can be proved then I shall accept it.

1. One huge enormous flaw in the theory of evolution is that they can't explain where the big ball came from. The big bang theory says there was this huge ball, or primeval atom, which suddenly blew up thus creating the universe. But where did it come from ? The evolutionists have no answer! Where did matter come from ? The evolutionists have no answer ! The big ball and matter was just there, sort of like magic. Some scientists will even try to convince you that our vast universe, which is so enormous that we can't see the end of it - just came from nothing. Yeah sure ! And Santa Claus flies in the sky in a sleigh pulled by reindeer, and the Tooth Fairy exists ! 

Scientists have not been able to find out how big the universe is, or how many stars there are. The limits of the universe are unknown by mankind. Perhaps there are no limits, but this is mere speculation. There are known to be millions of galaxies of various sizes and shapes. Galaxies contain millions, even billions of stars of many types. There may be billions of galaxies, because mankind has not been able to see the end of the universe. It is not even possible for a mortal human being to comprehend the size and mass of the universe. So where did the matter that makes up the universe come from ? The evolutionists have no answer, except to suggest that it might have just come from nothing !!! What kind of idiots do they think we are ? 

It is unreasonable and unscientific to suggest that the vast universe just popped into existence from the void, like magic, and  randomly, without any intelligent guiding force behind it. I thought scientists didn't believe in mythology and magic. I thought they used reason and logic. Does it seem logical to you that our earth, sun and moon (not to mention the whole seemingly limitless universe with it's multiple millions of galaxies, with each galaxy containing millions and perhaps billions of stars) could have just come into existence from nothing ? That is what the true believer evolutionist are trying to tell you. Talk about blind faith. 

Apparently they speculate there are some sort of particles, or is it non-particles, or some things that are just able to bring matter into existence from nothing. What a joke !  

So where did matter come from ? Where did the big ball that supposedly blew up, come from ? 

Let me quote the famous British astronomer Mr. Patrick Moore, from his book ' The Unfolding Universe ' page 242:  " Finally I come back to the point of view which I have given many times in the past, and which has even been regarded as a particular hobbyhorse of mine. I maintain that nobody has yet discussed the origin of the universe. We must start from something; matter must have been created in some way, and no theory, steady-state, big bang or oscillating universe, has given the slightest inkling of how this happened......"

Those of us who know God, have the answers for the origin of matter and the universe. 

Hebrew 11:3 " Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. "

Spiritual energy from God (which we can't see) was transformed into the material universe we can see. A good analogy to help understand this is electricity. We can't see electricity with our eyes, but  electricity can be transformed by a light bulb into light, for example. Electrical energy can be transformed to do all sorts of things, but it has to work through some sort of instrument, or tool, like a heater, radio, TV, computer, pump and so on. So also spiritual energy from God was transformed into matter through the act of creation. Very simple stuff ! Well not really. Of course there must be a natural means that God uses to do that. Whether science will ever be able to discover the mechanism used is pure speculation.

2.  Another enormous flaw in evolutionary theory is that the evolutionists will have you believe life evolved from non-life. This is unscientific. Why ? Because we can easily prove that only life begets life. This is a scientific fact. Life just doesn't spontaneously pop up from non-life. The theory of evolution is basically unscientific, because it is a proven fact that life can only come from life.

However, the true believer evolutionists will want to sell you their snake oil, and have you swallow the myth that life evolved from non-life over eons of time. Yet this cannot be proven and is unscientific !! 

Of course those of us who know God exists, have no problem explaining how life came to be. God created life. But the scientific establishment has rejected God and the Bible. 

I have only one response   Psalms 14:1 "  The fool has said in his heart, There is no God. "

3. Another flaw in the evolution theory is that when a person observes nature they  see that kind reproduces after kind. There are different species of one kind, but they are all still of the same family. You can't observe in nature where one kind makes a sudden jump to become a different kind. This principle agrees with the Genesis record of creation where it is said that kind was only to reproduce after kind ( Genesis 1: 11-12, 21, 24-25 ).

Now there are many different species of grouse and ptarmigan in Alberta but they all belong to the same family or kind. There is the ruffed grouse, sharp-tailed grouse, sage grouse, and spruce grouse, blue grouse, greater prairie chicken for example, and high up in the mountains the willow ptarmigan, and white-tailed ptarmigan. Each of these is a separate species with habits all their own, but they all are still of the same kind.

There are times that adaptation occurs and new species come to exist.  There is no doubt about this. A certain group gets cut off from the larger population and begins to interbreed and you can get a new species develop. This happens all the time in nature, but adaptation is not the same a evolution. You just can't see a ruffed grouse for example trying to mate with a duck or an owl. In fact ruffed grouse do not interbreed with sharp-tailed grouse even when their territories overlap.

Each species has developed a different custom or ritual in mating. For this reason the two do not mate together in nature ( there certainly may be some rare exceptions).

The sharp-tailed males congregate on dancing grounds and perform displays before other males. Females are attracted to them because the sounds they make can be heard for long distances. So mating is more in a social context. The ruffed has a whole different way of going about this. Each male stacks a territory off for himself and finding a fallen tree they stand on it and beat their wings rapidly which makes a drumming sound. Such sounds are very common in the spring time in grouse habitat. Now I don't know very much about the full sex lives of these birds, but the females obviously hear and are driven by the urge just like the males. So a ruffed grouse will not make the mistake of mating with a sharp-tailed or spruce grouse or any other species other than their own, unless something extremely unusual happens.

There are many species of ducks for example, but they are still all ducks. Many species of cats yet they can still be recognized as cats - all the way from the house cat to the tiger. The basic nature of the kind stays the same, but there can be a tremendous amount of variation and adaptation of different species. This is because habitat or environment is not the same. So when a creature moves into a different environment they gradually adapt to it and so eventually a distinct species develops. Sometimes also, very rarely there are beneficial mutations, which are passed on.

Adaptation of the species to the environment happens. Natural selection happens. These are well documented scientific truths. However, this is not the same thing as evolution. Evolution teaches that one kind changes into another kind. Evolution teaches that life began with so called simple cells ( actually cells have been found to be extremely complex ). Then life slowly evolved over millions and millions of years from one kind of creature, or plant to another. Mankind is supposed to be the most highly evolved creature on earth. So please understand that true science agrees with natural selection. However, evolution theory is fundamentally unscientific, because much of it can't be proven.

4. Another flaw in evolution is the tremendous shortage of intermediate kinds of animals in nature. All creatures are adapted to their environments to survive. They become a part of the habitat. You cannot for example see a half dog, half cat in nature. But there are some very unusual and strange creatures indeed.

In nature different kinds of animals do not interbreed. You just can't see it happening in the wild. The main reason I believe is that the habitats, and breeding customs are different. So there can be no confusion about this business. A robin and a blue jay for example are similar in size. It is conceivable that a robin could mate with a blue jay but it never happens. The reason is that each goes through their own mating rituals. Each is a different kind of bird and that's all that's to it.

Even different species of the same kind do not normally interbreed. Coyotes and wolves for example can mate together, but it does not happen too often in nature. These are both of the dog family but in the wild, coyotes and wolves are enemies and wolves sometimes eat coyotes. Interbreeding does occur, but not very often. But interbreeding between different kinds of creatures does not happen in the wild.

Every family of creatures has a nature. Dogs all have similar characteristics even though they may vary greatly. All men share the same nature but all human beings are not of the same race, or speak the same language. There are tremendous differences but yet we still have the same human nature. That nature does not change no matter where we live.

Each kind of animal, plant and bird also has a distinct nature which stays basically the same. The outward form change but the basic nature is the same.

Now people may give the example of certain amphibious creatures such as frogs and toads or salamanders which can live in water or dry land. The fact is that these creatures are perfectly adapted to their environment and not some half way creature. They reproduce after their own kind and it just so happens that their nature is that they spend a part of life in water and another on land.

Porpoises and dolphins are also given as examples of creatures which are half mammal and half fish. They live in the water but must surface for air regularly. The evolutionists claim that these were once land dwelling creatures which have returned to the sea. Their front legs have been turned into useless flippers and may disappear all together. Their hind legs have been joined together and so they have tails now. Now in this case we see a perfectly adapted creature. Where are the remnants of this race which stayed on the land ? Where are the dolphins which are not yet fully evolved, and so spend part of their time in water and part on land. You can't find any of them walking around.

Now it is claimed by the evolutionists that birds are descended from reptiles. Birds have scales on their feet and so this is supposed to be a remnant of their reptilian past.

Yet when you look at each kind of bird you see a perfectly adapted creature. Birds also lay eggs but these are warm blooded, and not like reptiles. They have feathers and very light bones for flying. Now if evolution is true then we should be able to see many half bird,  half reptiles all over the place especially in the fossil record. Where are the reptiles that are still evolving into birds ? Where are the half formed wings and half formed feathers ? There is no kind of creature which is a real link between them. You can't find it in nature.

If evolution is true then we should actually see more half way creatures than fully adapted creatures. It is true that creatures adapt and so their bodies change gradually. The most adaptable survive and reproduce and pass on those genes to their offspring. I was over to the game farm and saw some of the antelope from Africa. These small antelopes live on the savannah where it is important to be able to see enemies coming. The ones who can see the predators coming and can escape most often are the ones that survive and pass their genes on to their offspring. So the head has become elongated and the eyes have moved further to the top of this animals head. So when they are grazing their eyes are able to see more clearly to avoid enemies. Also the front legs have become longer than the hind ones and this also helps then to see over the tall grass. Therefore the ones who survived passed on their genes to their offspring and so you get an antelope with an elongated head and face with eyes higher on the head and longer front legs.

This is not evolution but  merely adaptation of the creature to the environment. Evolution teaches that one kind evolves into another kind. The animal is still an antelope, but it has changed over the years no doubt. But the basic antelope nature has not changed but the outward appearance has. They are still antelopes only now with long narrow heads and long front legs and higher shoulders.

5. Another point is that to the evolutionists man is just an animal. So they have taken that particular point of view. Therefore everything they study and which they discover about man in interpreted from that point of view. So all that is learned is just seen from that particular angle.

Also scientists dig up fossils which they believe to be links between man and ape like creatures. However, not all scientists agree with each other as to what these bones exactly are. So they cannot agree as to what any particular bones may be. There isn't unanimous agreement within the scientific community.

6. The fifth point is that scientists who dig up and study fossils, for the most part have their minds made up as to what those bones may mean. They have been taught to see these fossils from the evolutionary point of view and so this is how they interpret them. So a person enters into this search with a certain vision in one's head. Then when a fossil of an ape like creature is found, the fossil is placed into a certain pre-arranged order.

Also in the natural world these people interpret nature from the evolutionary viewpoint. Evolution is considered to be proved and no longer a theory. So they only see nature from that angle and ignore looking at this from the other side. The study is no longer an objective search for truth, but rather a subjective search for evidence which will confirm pre-conceived ideas. The process is unscientific because of its subjectivity. Evolution is considered to be accepted and proven by most educated people, and so other possibilities are ignored.

It is also a question of only seeing what they want to see. The scientific establishment has accepted the theory of evolution and based their ideas on it. To question the premise would put a scientist at odds with the prevailing doctrines. It is not the in thing to do - to question the theory of evolution. So a big part of the problem has to do with politics in the scientific community. A biology professor for example, who does not go along with this theory, will not be able to teach that subject in any prestigious university in the country. He will not be hired for the job. The establishment plugs their ears and will not listen to the other side of the story.

7. The evolutionists have plugged their ears from hearing anything about how God could have created the universe and life. This is another major flaw in this theory because any other possibilities are ignored. The idea that God could have created life is rejected before it is even considered. This is an unscientific approach because men refuse to look at the subject from all angles. Scientific objectivity and the search for the facts is shunned. Instead a subjective manner is followed. The scientific establishment for the most part has simply decided beforehand to leave God out of the picture.

8. Another flaw in this theory is that scientists have failed to recognize that creation is happening right before their eyes. Life is being created daily, but many people fail to realize this. Evolution says life began billions of years ago and there was no such a thing as an act of creation. Life is evolving is the teaching. Yet if a person looks they are able to see life being created right near your back door. Babies are being born everyday and this is a creation. You and I are created beings, because 100 years ago we did not exist. If you are married and planning to have children then you are helping to create new life. 

The scientists fail to believe that there could be a God that works through His creation. They fail to see the earth and the environment as instruments in the hand of God through which He creates daily. Life is being continually renewed and plants and animals which never existed before are born right under our noses, and we can't seem to understand. Birds nesting and raising a family, crops growing, a continual cycle of birth and death. The sparrow that lives in the woods is a unique individual creation and there will never be another one like it again. Evolution is some mindless process and creatures are not considered unique. Yet these creatures  never existed before and these few years are all they have.

Yes - but people would say that this is not creating anything. Life is just being passed on from one generation to another and so it is just a natural process and has nothing to do with God. So the argument is that life is just evolving and it began a very long time ago and just keeps going on its own.

People who say this just see life from one particular point of view. They cannot conceive of the possibility of a God creating life in the manner I described. They have a pre-conceived idea that when God creates something he just causes it to be there out of nothing. Zot !  People have a narrow point of view as to how God creates and how He may work. 

It seems that most of mankind does not wish to think that they could be anyone's tool or instrument. They are loath to admit that they are not in control of their destiny, and refuse to admit that they are merely products of a greater force and power. Yet an objective study into this subject reveals to us that we are indeed just victims of circumstances and products of our environment. We are created beings. Evolutionists refuse to take into consideration that there may indeed be a Supreme Being, who shapes and molds his creation by working through the creation, through nature. Too many men refuse to consider that there may be a God who controls and alters the environment in order to create the kind of person and creature He wants.

9. Another flaw in the theory is that scientists have failed to understand the record of Creation described for us in the book of Genesis in the Bible. An assumption is made is made that the Bible teaches that the universe and the earth and all life was created about 6,000 years ago. This is a false assumption because what you read in Genesis is a process of renewing the earth.

Genesis 1:1  "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth."

So the Bible teaches there was a beginning, but we are not told how long ago that was. The earth and heaven were created and it does not say that life was not created at the same time. Nothing is said about dinosaurs or any such pre-historic life. Yet there is room for them in this scripture.

Genesis 1:2   "And the earth was (or became) without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters."

The reader would be advised to go over the first chapters of the Book of Genesis. It is quite clear that what we have here is a renewing of creation. This is not the original creation, but simply a restoring of life and order to the earth and heavens. The earth was covered by water and thick clouds and empty of life. We are not told how long life had existed on earth, since the original creation as described briefly in Genesis 1:1. This would include all the prehistoric life forms such as the dinosaurs and huge plants that lived at that time. It is not shown how long the earth was in a state of destruction and covered by water. There is just no record and so it is impossible to really say.

God began the process of repairing the earth, and the solar system so that life could be sustained on earth. The account in Genesis is the description of a restoration of the earth and not the original creation. Life could have existed for millions and billions of years prior to that, there is no record given. What happened during these eons of time is anyone's guess, but there is evidence in the rocks. Dinosaurs were not created 6,000 years ago as many people think. God did not create an earth with ready made fossils in the ground just to trick people. These creatures did exist, because we find them buried in the ground as fossils. The account given in Genesis is describing a renewing of life and not the original creation. There was a universal catastrophe on earth and life perished.

Now if you would go on further you will read that in the days of Noah God brought another universal flood on the earth, but saved Noah and his family in the ark. This account is considered by many educated people to be pure myth, but there it is in the Bible. I myself have many unanswered questions regarding Noah's  flood. So I certainly do not purpose to know all the answers.

The Bible shows us that there have been periods in the past where there was worldwide destruction of life. This explains the abrupt disappearance of the dinosaurs and many other prehistoric life forms. It appears that Noah's flood explains for us why life forms such as mastodons and saber- toothed tigers disappeared suddenly from the scene. It seems to explain why there have been found many fossilized creatures all in one location. This is because the waters carried masses of dead animals and plants and deposited them in mass graves. This is one way coal if formed. Scientists however rule out the possibility of such worldwide catastrophe . These are just stories and myths dreamt up by superstitious pagans according to them. 

10. Another flaw in the theory of evolution is how scientists view man. They look at the fossil record and see creatures who were ape like, but resembling man. So they conclude that man is descended from an ape like creature and has evolved from them. The account in Genesis is dismissed without even giving it any consideration.

Genesis 1: 26 - 27   " And God said , let us make man in our image, after our likeness and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the foul of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth " .

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he them, male and female created he them.

Genesis 2 : 7  " And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and created into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul."

Adam is described as the first man. Man is made in the image of God. The scientists and evolutionists have failed to believe that the record in Genesis does not disallow the existence of any ape-like creatures existing prior to man's creation. There could very well have been such beings who lived prior to Adam. There is nothing that tells us they could not have been using primitive tools and stone like weapons. These ape like creatures could  even have been able to use fire. There is nothing in the Bible that says such creatures did not live. They could have and this does not contradict the record in Genesis.

Adam it was said was the first man. 

1 Corinthians 15: 45  " And so it is written, the first man Adam was made a living soul, the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. "

The difference between a man and an ape, or an ape like creature is that mankind is made in the image of God and the others are not. Man is a separate distinct kind of creature. He was made to have a relationship with his Creator and become like Him.

Adam was offered the tree of life which would impart to him eternal life. No other creatures have been given that chance, because only man is made in God's likeness. This explains to us why only mankind has something called a religion. Humans were  made so that they needed God and needed to build and orientate their lives around God and to become like Him. We are made in the likeness of God, but God is a spirit. Mankind is made of flesh - in God's image, but has the potential to be made into the Spiritual image of God. There are no other creatures who are given the opportunity to come to know the spiritual. Only man of all creatures is able to comprehend the spiritual. 

This is probably the biggest most gigantic flaw in the theory of evolution. Prehistoric ape like creatures could have existed. They may very well have had the knowledge of how to make fire and primitive tools. Their tribes may have been very well organized. They could have been cooking their food over fires. Yet they were not men. Their physical powers and strength could have been far superior to ours. However they were not men. Man only is made in God's image. These were only beasts and not men. None of the beasts have been given the chance to become like God and none of them are allowed to worship God. They were not made for that purpose.

11. The last point is that scientists don't seem to realize that apes exist at this very time on earth. These are your gorillas, chimpanzee and orangutan and a few others, which are alive and with us today. There is a tremendous barrier between apes and man. It can be clearly seen that we are not of the same kind. They are apes and we are men. Gorillas are not just hairy sub-humans, but are an entirely different kind of animal. Sure there are similarities, but there are also similarities between man and squirrels, grouse, wolves and yes even pigs. Pigs always get kicked around, but man and hogs have much in common. I hope that science does not teach that we are first cousins or something.

If man evolved from ape like creatures then why aren't those modern forest dwellers coming down from the trees and evolving a little faster. Seems like they would rather sit there eating bananas than come down and turn into men. Maybe they look at us out from their jungle vantage point and talk it out at conferences. The old wise chief chimp stands up and says " Look boys why become like men - we have everything we need in the jungle. Besides men don't have as much fun as we do and must work hard all the time. " Everyone agrees and decides not to leave the friendly confines of their beloved forest. 

12. In conclusion perhaps we should all eat some humble pie and admit that none of us has all the answers regarding the creation and the universe. We are all very small and have been here only a few brief years. None of us human beings were there at the beginning of life here on earth, and none of us were eye witnesses to the birth of the universe. I do have some perplexing questions regarding the record of creation in Genesis and Noah's flood.  I certainly do not  purpose to have all the answers.

Moses wrote the book of Genesis. Moses saw God and talked with Him. There is a lot of symbolism in the Bible. Did Moses get the whole picture regarding the creation from God, or was he given just the rough outline ?  One thing is certain though. God exists and he did create the universe, the earth, and life on it. What remains a mystery is just exactly how was it done. Perhaps we shall never find out.

Chapter 10   The Scriptures Point To Christ

Now hopefully we are finding our way through this whole maze. It is easy to get lost. The key is to be aware of the world and ourselves. It would be easy for me to just jump headlong into the Bible from now on and leave the everyday world behind. There is a strong tendency for many who believe in God and Jesus Christ to undervalue the everyday common experiences. We have our eyes on the stars and we have our heads in the clouds and consequently forget where our feet are. We walk here on earth, but tend to forget that and so stumble over things. It's okay to look up there and dream but don't forget about our earthly reality. Awareness is knowing our world and ourselves. If we are aware we would realize man is of the earth, and when he dies his body rots and returns to the earth from which he came. There is no proof whatsoever that man has a soul within the body that never dies. All the evidence and facts can be clearly observed. The only conclusion must be that what the Bible says is absolute truth.

Genesis 2:7    "And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul. "

Here the Bible shows us that man became a living soul. So in other words man does not have an immoral soul within a moral body, but he is a soul. Now God put the man in a garden and planted many different trees. He could eat from all of them except for one.

Genesis 2:16-17    " And the Lord commanded the man, saying, of every tree of the garden there may you eat freely.

" But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die."

So the man was warned and God created a woman to help the man. You can read the account how Eve was tricked by the serpent and ate of the fruit and gave some to Adam who also ate. The man and woman could also have eaten from the tree of life which was also in the garden. They were allowed to eat of this tree, but instead chose to do what God said not to. 

Now people consider the story of Adam and Eve and the Garden of Eden to be just  that - a story. It is to them perhaps something dreamt up a long time ago by superstitious illiterate men to explain things which that they could not understand. Science we are told is the great liberation and eventually there will be no need for such tales, because science will solve all our problems. Will scientists ever solve the simple problem that we all die?  If they know so much then let them discover a way for us to live forever and never ever die. Yes, but the scientists would come back and tell you death is only natural and just a part of nature. Man is of the earth and so dies and that is just normal. This is not what the Bible teaches.

There is a lot of symbolism in the Bible. For example I believe the famous " tree of the knowledge of good and evil "  in Genesis was probably not a literal tree, but merely symbolic of mankind given the freedom by God to reject God's standards of what is right and wrong, and the freedom to decide for themselves what they think is right or wrong. The consequences for rebelling against God's authority and standards was death.

Yet some people believe this was a literal tree. You know the story of Eve eating the forbidden fruit. So what is the right answer ? We can only speculate, because we were not there. Also there were no human witnesses when the universe, the earth and life on it was created.  Moses wrote the Book of Genesis. He spoke to God and the law was revealed to him. However, did Moses get the whole story from God regarding the creation, and about Adam and Eve ? Or was he just given a rough outline ? Was there symbolism involved ? There are so many unanswered questions. However, there are very powerful, irrefutable proofs that God exists and life was created by Him, and the Bible is God's inspired word.

Death is not a comfortable friend and something we should welcome. God did not intend men and women to die. Death as described in the Bible was a consequence of disobeying God. God created these two people and put them in a garden and gave them a choice. They could leave it up to God to decide the rules and set the standards, or they could rebel and decide for themselves what they think is right, or wrong. God warned them that if they rebelled the consequences would be death. So man is offered a choice. He is not a robot, but someone who has been given the freedom of choice. People can choose to follow God or choose not to do what God says - human beings are given free moral agency.

In Genesis we get the first glimpse of the serpent. This is a snake, but from studying the Bible we come to understand that this was Satan the devil. Once again the concept of there being a real devil is simply considered as a giant myth. Just an invention of men so they can explain the evil in the world. 

If you can prove that the God of the Bible exists and Christ was truly the son of God then you have to admit the existence of a Devil. Yes, but many will say that they can see that God has to exist, because the earth has to come from somewhere. People can see the logic in this and even believe that Christ was the Son of God. However, the idea of there being a devil is not believed because it is too for-fetched in many people's opinion.

Hebrews 6:18  " That by two immutable things in which it was impossible for God to lie,----"

The Bible teaches us that it is impossible for God to lie. That is what this Supreme Being claims and so how can we understand this ?

Genesis 3:1-6  " Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the Lord God has made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said Ye shall not eat of every tree in the garden?

" And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden.

"  But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, least ye die.

"  And the serpent said to the woman, Ye shall not surely die.

"  For God doth know in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

"  And when the woman say that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a true to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her, and he did eat. " 

The serpent told Eve that she would not die, if she rebelled against God. Now whether Satan actually spoke personally to Eve is subject to debate. What is explained here could be something going on in Eve's mind, where she is being tempted by Satan to sin. Anyways she believed the devil rather than believing God. Adam was there by her side and went along with her. He said nothing and even though he knew it was wrong he did it anyways. Therefore he was also guilty, because he went along with something he knew to be wrong. He let others make the most important decision in his life for him. He rejected God's rules and laws.

To this day and age this lie is still believed by a tremendous number of people. The old lie that man is not a mortal creature, but an eternal soul imprisoned in a mortal body. So you get such a idea that when we die our souls go to heaven, or hell. Also there are ideas such as reincarnation or purgatory. Great religions teach that we do not die, but we come back in perhaps the form of a monkey, cow or maybe a holy man. If you are good in this life then in the next you will come back in a better form such as a great spiritual teacher. Or if you are bad then maybe you will come back as a pig or rat.

The old lie is still believed to this very day by millions - no billions! When you die if you have been good your soul will go to heaven. On the other hand if you are bad then your will go to hell, and you will be punished and tormented in flames for all eternity.

These are all giant lies, because they were started by Satan the devil the enemy of God.

Let us use our minds and be rational and reasonable. Can we prove that man has a immortal soul ? Have we seen the soul ? Honestly I just haven't seen any proof. I have known many people who have died, and none of them have come back and spoken to me. If their souls are still alive then why don't they come and show themselves to me ? My grandfather was a very religious man. My Dad had said to him that when my grandfather died he wanted him to come back and prove that his soul was still alive. Apparently they had long discussions on the subject. Well my grandfather died and my Dad said no one ever showed up.

Can we prove that man is a mortal, temporary creature on earth ?  All the facts and evidence points us in that direction !!  Our bodies and minds are made up of 20 odd elements of the earth. Just like the Bible says - " from dust you were taken and unto dust shall you shall return. "  It is quite clear we are living souls. Man became a living soul and so the soul is just the body and mind which is just flesh. Flesh dies and rots so there is no real difference in that respect between man and a dog, or any other earthly creature.

So Adam and Eve sinned against God and disbelieved Him. The root of the problem was that they did not believe God or thought that God would change his mind or something. The Bible tells us clearly that God cannot lie. So what God said came to pass

Genesis 3:19  " In the sweat of the face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto ground, far out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return. "

Genesis 3:22-24  "And the Lord said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever:

"Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to tell the ground from whence he was taken.

"So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubim and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life."

So the opportunity had been lost. Man and woman were now ordained to die. They could have eaten from the tree of life and lived forever as God has originally intended. However, they chose to disbelieve God and believe in lies. As the result of this and going along with lies and falsehood they let the opportunity for eternal life slip through their hands. Man was given a choice and they chose to believe lies and go along with them, rather than to trust in God.

Satan the devil actually murdered our first parents, because he lied to them or temped them to sin, and led them to do something he knew would cause death. So man was not simply made to die !  God had wanted us to live forever. Death for man, as shown in the Bible is the consequence for disobeying God or sinning. The penalty for disobeying, as in the case with the forbidden fruit, is death. So this is not natural for man, but a consequence of sin.

So therefore through simple inheritance we the children of Adam and Eve also end up dieing. Children take on the same nature of their parents and we have inherited this from them. Now people would say that this is very unfair. Two people make a little mistake and now everybody else has to pay for it. Why should one of us have to die just because of what someone did thousands of years ago? I will give you some scriptures which should clear up the situation.

Roman 5:12  "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned."

Death entered into man's life, because Adam and Eve sinned. So we just inherit this characteristic from our first parents. Now God shows us that sin is the result of breaking Gods law.

1 John 3:4  "Whosoever commiteth sin transgresseth the law: for sin is the transgression of the law."

Romans 6:23   "For the wages of sin is death--- "

So if we can follow this, we understand that the penalty for disobeying God is death. God's laws shows us what we are not supposed to do. When we disobey God's law we have earned the death penalty. However, the entire law was not given to man until the days of Moses.

Romans 5:13  " (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law) "

It is very simple. You can't break a law if it does not exist. The law shows you what you are doing wrong. It is the way we nab people who do things which we don't like. So people make laws so that we know what is wrong. God gave us His laws for the same purpose. To show what He disapproves us, and give us some clear guidelines. However, none of us obeys the law perfectly, so we are subject to the penalty for not obeying, which is death.

We also inherit death from our first parents Adam and Eve. Then we have our own personal sins and so people are in a real fix. Whichever way you turn and whatever you do there is death staring at you in the face !!

Once again people may say this is all so very unfair. What about Adam's children- why couldn't they have the same chance Adam did ? The thing is that Adam and Eve were driven out of the garden of Eden and prevented from eating the tree of life (the tree of life may not have been a literal tree, but merely symbolic of them having access to the Holy Spirit). So their children just inherited from them mortality.  If the parents had been immortal then the children would have inherited this trait from them. However, God had said they would die because they disobeyed him.

Romans 5:4  "Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who in the figure of him that was to come."

It really didn't matter how good or righteous any of their children were. They were condemned to die, and all men have sinned. Through the law God condemns us, because none keep it perfectly. So we are in a real mess to be sure. You try to be good, but find that all you do is end up dead. We are mortal creatures as can be clearly proved. You try to keep all the commandments in the law, but find you make mistakes. So all you get for trying to do good is end up earning the death penalty.

A mistake is a sin and so for all your good intentions a person just ends up dead. What a terrible fix to be in. A person might as well just live as one pleases and get drunk everyday if this is how things are, and if there is no hope.

The point is that all our good works and good intentions are not good enough. The efforts to obey the commandments are not enough- they are not sufficient. Nothing that people do will change the fact we all get old and die.

God has put the death penalty on all men. Sure we live for a time, but in the end we get the wages we deserve. This is passed onto each succeeding generation and hereditary. So when you look at it, our present bodies are just like rotting corpses and pieces of old rusty junk. We are just as good as dead and the only question is when it will happen not whether.

When God looks at us all he can see is that we are merely temporary, transitory creatures. Here today and gone tomorrow. Just mere emptiness and vanity to God. Creatures in bondage to death because of our sins. So in effect man is no better than a slave in his present condition. Yes slaves of sin and death, and therefore the prisoners of Satan and the devil.  So all men (if they haven't been set free by Christ) are prisoners of Satan the devil. Adam and Eve went along with Satan and disbelieved God and so became the possessions of Satan.

The Scribes  and Pharisees came and talked to Jesus and claimed that God was their father. Christ told them that their true father was Satan the devil.

John 8:44  " Ye are of your Father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own, for he is a liar, and the father of it. " 

The Bible teaches that mankind (if they have not been set free by Christ) is in bondage to Satan. Satan overcame Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, so they became his. 

11 Peter 2:19  " While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought into bondage. "

Hebrews 2:14-15 " For as much then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same, that though death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil. And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. "

Now is this an accurate statement or not? Are not men fearful of death? Is it not true that death holds a power and grip upon men which is stronger than us. Yes this is true and Satan is the one who holds (or used to hold) that power over man.

1 Corinthians 15:26 " The last enemy which shall be destroyed is death. "

Death is man's enemy and not his friend as some may try to tell you. Death is also God's enemy and will eventually be destroyed by God - so says your Bible. Death is not a passageway into another world and something we should welcome. It is a one way trip into nothingness. It is emptiness and just a total void for mankind. Death is just as the scientists will tell you - the end of life.

So next we shall look and see what this God of the Bible has in mind on how He plans to destroy death.

Chapter 11    Christ-The Second Adam

So hopefully it has become clear that man is a mortal, temporary creature. All the evidence points in that direction. There is no evidence to suggest that human beings have an immoral soul dwelling within the human body. Man is a living soul, just like a cat is a living soul or a bird. When people die they cease to exist. The body returns to the dust and that person is gone into the great void. There is no hope for us in our present state. This is very important to remember, because there is this great lie which says men have an immoral soul which can never be destroyed. There isn't one shred of evidence to support that claim.

Adam as has been explained was the first man. He was made from the earth. His sins had caused God to place the death penalty on him. Therefore he died and those descendants of his suffer the same fate due to heredity.

Now we are going to deal with Jesus Christ as described in the Bible. I want to point out to you what the Bible teaches about Jesus Christ. Then we will see if what is shown there has any relevance to the real world, at this moment. If what is taught in the Bible can't be proved to fit in with the real world then it is not worth bothering with.

1 Corintians15:45-50  " And so it is written, the first man Adam was made a living soul, the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

" Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.

"The first man is of the earth, earthly: the second man is the Lord from heaven.

"And as we have borne the image of the earthly, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

" Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. "

Adam as  explained was the first man and of the earth. The second man, or the last Adam is the Lord from heaven, and spiritual in nature. So here we have a totally new turn in this whole business. Now we must look into the spiritual and the Kingdom of God. Science rejects the idea that there could be a spiritual world. However to simply reject something without studying into the matter is unscientific and unreasonable.

John 1:1-4  " In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  The same was in the beginning with God.   In Him was life; and the life was the light of men."

John 1:14  "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth."

John 1:18 " No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him."

Luke 1:26-27  " And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth. To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David, and the virgins name was Mary."

Luke 1:30-35 " And the angel said unto her, fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shall call his name Jesus. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give him the throne of his father David. And he shall reign over the house of Jacob forever; and of his Kingdom there shall be no end.  Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not (never had sexual intercourse with) a man ?  The angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God."

The Bible teaches that the word was with God, and was God, and was made flesh. He is called the only begotten Son of God. Now how can the Word who was God, be called the Son of God ? The answer is that the Word was born of the Virgin Mary and therefore called the Son of God. God was His Father, as the Bible teaches. The Bible shows clearly that no man has seen God (God the Father) at any time. Christ came to reveal God the Father to mankind. Here the Bible itself refutes the claim of men that they go to heaven after death and see God. Christ only, of all men has seen God - so says the Bible.

Now you might wonder how could Mary have a baby when she had never had sexual intercourse with a man ? How exactly did this work when the Holy Ghost (Spirit) overshadowed her ?  I have used the word Spirit instead of Ghost, because this is a more accurate translation. When the King James translation was made people used the word  "ghost" instead of spirit.

Most everyone knows how babies are made. It might be helpful for the reader to get some literature which could explain this in more detail. The sperm from the male fertilizes the women's egg and then this egg begins to grow. The sperm and egg unite to form a single individual. So a child has half of his genes from Dad and half from Mom. So we have children which are unique, but resemble both Mom and Dad. Some kids take more after the mother, while others take more after Dad, but they can't escape looking a little like them. We take on the nature of our parents and resemble them to a greater or lesser degree.

Now with God and Mary there is something totally unique. God is a Spirit while man is flesh. However, man is made in the image of God. So man looks something like God , or God resembles a man, if you want to put it that way. However, God is not flesh and blood, but a Spirit as described in the Bible. The God in the Bible claims to be a Spirit.

John 4:24 "God is a spirit: and they that worship him in spirit and in truth."

Therefore the Word also had to be flesh and look like a man. So the way this had to be done was that Christ had to be both human and Divine. With God all things are possible and we don't know exactly how this was done, but it was accomplished according to the Bible. God and man were fused into one individual, Jesus Christ, in Mary's womb. He took on the traits of humanity, but yet retained the spiritual characteristics. So Christ had characteristics both of his Divine Father God, and his human parent Mary. Therefore Christ was both Spiritual and flesh. He shared God's characteristics. He was literally God in the flesh.

People wonder about this and it sounds just too strange to believe for many. Many people in Christ's time could not accept him as the Messiah, because they knew how he was born and saw him grow up just like anyone else. They had assumed that when the Messiah would come he would just sort of appear out of nowhere all fully grown already. However, men seek to limit God and have Him work only the way that seems sensible to them. God had to have Christ born of a woman to achieve what had to be done. That is the way God did it and so who are we to argue - all we can do is marvel at how great God is.

So Christ called Himself the Son of God and also the Son of Man.

1 John 4:2 " Hereby know ye the Spirit of God. Every Spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God."

So Christ the Second Adam was from heaven and was a spiritual creation.

John 3:31 " He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth, he that cometh from heaven is above all. "

This Christ the Bible teaches came from heaven and is above all.

John 14:6-11   " Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

"If ye had known me, ye should of known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen to Him.

" Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it will sufficeth us.

"Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how saith thou then, Show us the Father ?

" Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doith the works.

" Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works sake."

God the Father lived right in Christ through the Holy Spirit. Christ was a dwelling place for God. God manifested Himself through Christ. God lived through Christ, and so Christ was a part of God. God is a family. This family is described as the Kingdom of God. Christ is the Son of God. So we have here a family relationship.

God the Father and God the Son are separate unique individuals, but they are still both Gods. However God the Father is greater than Christ. They both look alike. 

John 5:36-40  "But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.

"And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye hath never heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.

"And ye hath not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, he ye believe not.

"Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify against me."

"And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. "

The works God did through Christ were proofs that Christ was sent by God. God bore witness to the fact that he sent Christ by doing His works through Him. In order to receive life the Jews  thought all they needed to do was keep the Law,  but all the Law pointed to Christ. Yet they would not come to him.

We have explained already how none of us has eternal life dwelling within us. Also have shown that trying to obey the Law will not earn a person eternal life. The Jews thought they could gain life by looking into the scriptures and following all the rules and laws perfectly. This we have shown was not possible.

So in his present state man is lost. Christ was sent in order to make it possible for man to be born in the Kingdom of God. When born into this Kingdom we shall live forever and ever. What God and Christ are doing is creating children. These are spiritual creations and not physical in nature. God is a Spirit and so His children will become like Him.

This subject will be gone into more detail in later chapters. We are trying to see the broad picture as to what God is doing through the second Adam, Jesus Christ. It is a very complicated subject, so lets go through it deliberately and slowly so people aren't confused.

The Godhead is composed of two beings. God the Father is the head of it. Christ is the Son of God. God and Christ are working together and raising a family for themselves. These children are spiritual creations. God calls certain individuals and begins drawing and working with them. God works out circumstances and situations in their lives so that they are drawn to Him. These people are led to Christ by God through the Holy Spirit, and can become begotten children of God through Jesus Christ. It is very simple to understand that God is working through Christ to create children. Of course when we are born into God's Kingdom as children of God - we won't be Gods as such, since only God the Father and God the Son can truly be regarded as part of the Godhead.

Children become like their parents and so they will inherit eternal life. Therefore human beings can be saved from eternal death by going to God and Christ for life. God is not trying to save the world at this time, but only works with a select few. God is working through Christ and calling only a very few at this time to become his children. The rest of mankind will get their opportunity for salvation later on.

Romans 8:28-31  "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them that are called according to his purposes.

"For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the wings of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

"Moreover whom he did predestinate, then he also called: and whom he called, and he justified them he also glorified.

"What shall we then say to these things? If God be with us who can be against us?"

God and Christ are not in a mad race with the Devil. They are not competing with Satan for the souls and hearts of men. God and Christ are now only working with a select few and not trying to get the whole world saved.   For more information on this subject please read my article called   Only A Few Now Being Called To Salvation - The Rest Are Blinded. 

Mark 4:11-12 "And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the Kingdom of God: but unto them that are without all these things are done in parables:

"That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins forgiven them."

Most of mankind are in bondage to Satan. God and Christ are working to create children from only a select few at this time. These few are having their minds open to understand the spiritual by God. These are the ones being offered salvation at this time. The rest of mankind has been blinded and are unable to understand.

John 12:39-40 " Therefore they could not believe, because that Isaiah said again;

" He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them."

John 4:4 " No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day."

John 6:65 " And he said, Therefore I said unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given him of my Father."

God is the one who calls people to salvation. Not all men are being drawn by God at this time. Their opportunity will come later on. What God is doing is working with Christ to build up the Church. The true Church will be resurrected when Christ returns and rule on the earth under Christ during the millennium. Christ shall marry the Church and the Church is called the Bride of Christ.  So this is God's plan. To first call a few and make them God's children. Then at the return of Christ to resurrect these children, and give them eternal life in God's Kingdom. Christ will marry the resurrected Church and will be her Husband. Then God the Father can really go about the business of giving all those men who never had an opportunity for salvation their first chance. We will be there to assist Him in this work.

In this chapter I will go over the Holy Days given to the children of Israel as recorded in the Old Testament. These Holy Days point to Jesus Christ, and show us God's plan and schedule here on earth. Here is the list from Leviticus chapter 23:

1. Passover
2. Days of Unleavened Bread 
3. Day of Pentecost or The Feast Of First Fruits 
4. Feast of Trumpets
5. Day of Atonement
6. Feast of Tabernacles
7. The Last Great Day

The children of Israel were slaves in Egypt. The children of Israel were instructed to kill a lamb and to smear some of its blood on the lintels of their doors. Then at midnight God killed all the firstborn in Egypt, but passed over the homes of the Israelites when He saw the blood of the lamb on their doors. Thus the children of Israel were delivered out of slavery that night. The Passover points to Christ. Jesus is described as the Lamb of God.

The last supper that Christ ate with his disciples was on the Passover. God ends and starts days at sunset and this supper was on the evening on the beginning of the Passover. There is no space to go into greater detail and explain everything about this in the Old Testament. It would be a good idea for you to read through this section in your own Bible. Christ was captured that same evening and put on trial the next morning. He was taken before Pilate and sentenced to death even though he had done nothing wrong.

Luke 23:13-15     ''  And Pilate, when he had called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people,  Said unto them, Ye have brought this man unto me, as one that perverteth the people: and, behold, I, having examined Him before you, have found no fault in this man touching those things whereof ye accuse Him:  No, nor yet Herod: for I sent you to him; and, lo, nothing worthy of death is done unto him. " 

However the rule of the mob prevailed and Pilate ordered Christ to be crucified. Christ was crucified outside of the city gates on the Passover - on the very day.  He stood before his accusers innocent - just like a lamb.

Isaiah 53 : 7   " He was oppressed, and he was affected, yet he opened not his mouth : he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he opened not his mouth.''

Mark 15 : 4-5   " And Pilate asked him again, saying, Answerest thou nothing? Behold how many things they witness against thee. Yet Jesus answered nothing ; so that Pilate marveled. "

Leviticus 17:11   '' For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul. "

So the Roman soldiers were ordered to crucify Christ. He was exposed on a stake and nails driven through hands and feet. It takes a while for a person to die in such a situation. It is a long drawn out affair and no doubt this form of death was devised to scare off anyone from going contrary to the prevailing doctrines of the time. The chief priests and elders, scribes and other Jewish leaders had conspired against Christ and had him delivered to Pilate. Christ was very popular with the people and these leaders were worried about losing their positions of authority and status over the nation.

Many people cannot understand how Christ could be a King, when there He was humiliated and slowly bleeding to death on a stake. Is this the Son of God and the Messiah - there in a weakened state and helpless before his tormentors? The people who witnessed the crucifixion - also could not understand how this one who had done so many great works, could be wiped out so easily.  And Christ's enemies mocked and jeered and made jokes -  " He saved others but can't save himself " they mocked.  

He was crucified and died on the Passover.

The Days of Unleavened Bread

Leaven is some sort of fermenting agent added to dough which cause it to rise and swell and ferment. Yeast is a leavening agent and the children of Israel were commanded not to eat any bread which had any leavening agent in it during these Holy Days. Yeast is symbolic of sin. Unleavened Bread is therefore flat and heavy. Also leaven changes the composition of dough. So the firstborn of the Egyptians were killed and so Pharaoh out of desperation drove the Children of Israel out of Egypt.

Exodus 12:33-34   " And the Egyptians were urgent upon the people, that they might send them out of the land in haste; for they said, We be all dead men.  And the people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneading troughs being bound up in their clothes upon their shoulders."

Leviticus 23:6-8  " And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of Unleavened Bread unto the Lord: seven days ye must eat Unleavened Bread.  In the first day ye shall have an Holy convocation : ye shall do no servile work therein. But ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord seven days : in the seventh day is an Holy convocation ye shall do no servile work within."

The first and last of this seven day feast are special holy days. This was a reminder that God delivered them out of Egypt, out of slavery. These days point to this coming out of bondage and becoming free. So on this day a long time ago the Israelites gained their freedom which had been lost for hundreds of years.  When the opportunity for freedom came they took it.

Exodus 14 : 8 " And the Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh King of Egypt, and he pursued after the children of Israel : and the Children of Israel went out with a high hand."

Exodus 14 :10 " And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and , behold, the Egyptians marched after them ; and they were so afraid, and the children of Israel cried out to the Lord. "

Exodus 14 :13 - 14  " And Moses said unto the people, fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will show to you today : for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more forever.  The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. "

The were trapped with Pharaoh's army on one side and the Red Sea on the other. So God told Moses to take his rod and stretch it over the sea and God would cause the waters to part, and they could walk over on dry ground.

Exodus 14: 19 - 21  "  And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them:  And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night.  And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided. "

Exodus 14 : 22 - 23 " And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground : and the water was a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left. And the Egyptians pursued, and went in after them to the midst of the sea, even all Pharaoh's horses, his chariots, and his horsemen."

God fought for the Israelites and troubled the Egyptians and caused the wheels of their chariots to fall off. When the people were across God told Moses to stretch his hand over the sea and God would cause the waters to return to their former place.

Exodus 14 : 30  " Thus the Lord saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians dead upon the sea shore. "

These days point to Christ, because Jesus has set us free from Satan and from bondage to sin and death. Egypt is symbolic of sin, as is yeast (or leaven) and Pharaoh is symbolic of Satan. Like the Israelites we are not strong enough to save ourselves. We need God to help us. Satan and sin and death are too powerful for us - but Christ has won the victory, and delivered us from bondage to sin and death, and set us free. We are free to follow Christ - He is our Master and Savior.

John 8 : 31 - 36   " Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then ye are my disciples indeed.  And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and we're never in bondage to any man : how sayest thou, Ye shall be free?  Jesus answered them, Verily, verily I say unto you, Whosoever commited sin is the servant of sin.  And the servant abideth not in the house forever : but the Son abideth ever. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed."

Romans 8 : 2   " For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. "

Romans 6 :18   " Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.  "

Romans 6 : 22  " But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. "

Galatians 5:1 " Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be no entangled again with the yoke of bondage. "

Christ is the great liberator and frees us from all our oppressors. We are no longer anyone else's slave, but the servants of Christ.

Galatians 5 : 13 " For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty ; only use liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. "

2 Corinthians 3 : 17  " Now the Lord is that Spirit : and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty."

Christ has set us free just like the Israelite slaves. He has set us free from sin which brings us death.

This is another Holy Day, which is fifty days after the last weekly Sabbath in the Days of Unleavened Bread. It is always on a Sunday. This corresponds to the small first harvest that occurs in the land of Palestine. It is an offering of the first fruits of the land to God. It is symbolic of the first, of a much larger harvest to come later in the year. It is called the Feast of Harvests , The First Fruits of your labour, or the Day of Pentecost.

This day points to Christ. Jesus did not stay in the tomb, but was raised from the dead on the third day. There are many eye witnesses to this as recorded in the Bible. Many people were very skeptical at first and had to be convinced.

Mark 16 : 9 - 11   " Now when Jesus was risen, early the first day of the week, He appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom He had cast seven devils. And she went and told them that had been with Him, and they mourned and wept. And then when they had heard that He was alive, and had been seen to her, believed not. "

Mark 16 : 14 - 16    " Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at the table, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.  And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.  He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved ; but he that believeth not shall be damned."

Luke 24 : 44 - 49   "And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.  Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures.  And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day. And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.  And ye are witnesses of these things.  And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you : but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

Mark 16 : 19   " So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

Acts 2 : 1-4   " And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance."

The Holy Spirit was given on the Pentecost and the Church was founded on that day. The church is described as the first fruits, just like Christ.

1 Corinthians 15 : 20-23  " But now is Christ risen from the dead, and became the first fruits of them that slept. For since by man came death , by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even as in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order : Christ the first fruits ; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming."

Christ is the only one who has risen from the dead so far (risen from the dead to die no more). All the rest of men who died are still dead. The Church was founded on Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit was sent down from heaven. God as I have pointed out is only working with a few in this day and age. The rest are not being offered salvation yet. Christ is building His church and these will be the ones He will have in His Kingdom when He returns. These are being prepared and trained now in this life. Then when they are in the Kingdom they will be more capable of doing a good job and helping Christ and serving others. You can read in Revelation chapters one (1)to three(3)the history of the true Church. These are the ones being prepared. The Feast of First Fruits is symbolic of those who are the first to know Christ. The first resurrection from the dead has not happened yet. Only Christ is risen - He is the only one so far. When Christ returns to Earth then these first fruits will be resurrected to eternal life.

The Feast of Trumpets

Hopefully you can see how God has a plan and the Holydays show us what it is. These days are all prophetic and point to Christ and have been and will be fulfilled by Christ. 

The next Holyday we will cover, unlike the first three, has not yet come to pass. 

Passover has been fulfilled as has the Days of Unleavened Bread. Most of Pentecost has been fulfilled. 

The Feast of Trumpets is totally in the future. I hope you can begin to see that all these events could not have been coincidental. Everything has worked out so perfectly and been prophesied thousands of years in advance. It is impossible for all this to be just the work of happenstance, or some primitive ignorant tribes. Someone planned this all out and that someone is God.

Leviticus 23:23-25   " And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,  Speak unto the Children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a Sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation. Ye shall do no servile work therein : but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord."

The blowing of a trumpet can mean many things. In our day it is just to make music. However, when you study the Bible the blowing of a trumpet was quite important. It was used to gather people together or it could also mean a call to war. The sound of a trumpet in ancient Israel had a lot of significance to it.

The Feast of Trumpets points to Christ and His Second Coming, to rule the Earth a King of Kings and Lord of Lords, and it also points to the resurrection of the Saints. When Christ returns there will be a blast of a great trumpet and the dead in Christ will be resurrected to life (1Corinthians 15:23).

1 Corinthians 15 : 51 - 52  " Behold I show you a mystery ; We shall not all sleep, but we shall be changed. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump ; for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed."

The Feast of Trumpets is prophetic, and shows us how Christ (the first from the dead) will raise His church up to life again. Those who are alive at the time will be changed in a split second. Christ will have been working a long time and now it is time for the first fruits - the true Church - to be raised to immortality. This is because Christ will need them to begin the work of restoring God's Kingdom on this earth.

Revelation 14:1  " And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the Mount Zion, and with Him and hundred forty and four thousand (144,000) having his Father's name written in their foreheads."

Revelation 14:4-5  " These are they which were not defiled with women ; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb withersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no guile for they are without fault before the throne of God."

There has been much confusion about this 144,000. There will be only 144,000 people resurrected into the Kingdom of God when Christ returns (anyways that is the way it appears). With these Christ shall set up a world ruling government on Earth. 

It says that they stood before the throne of God and there are harpers harping and all are singing a new song before the throne. Many may reason that this means the 144,000 will be living in heaven with God. No this cannot be the answer. They follow the Lamb wherever He goes. When Christ raises those from the dead they will now be truly children of God and spiritual being. So Christ is going to take them up to heaven for a visit,  because God the Father wants to have a look at his children. Described here is just some sort of presentation ceremony for the 144,000 before God the Father. It would only seem natural that now God wanted to allow them to see Him as He is and welcome them into His family formally. These 144,000 will not be ruling in heaven, but be with Christ. Christ will be on the earth.

Revelation 20 : 4 - 5  " And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them : and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus and for the word of God, and which had not worshiped the beast, neither His image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands ; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and Holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection : on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign a thousand years."

The Holy Days

Christ has fulfilled a number of the Holy Days

The weekly Sabbath is prophetic of the rest we shall enter into (The Kingdom of God)  (Hebrews 4:1-11 note verse 4). These days show us God's plan and point to Christ.

In the next chapter we shall deal with Christ, who is the mediator or bridge between man and God the Father. We shall see how mankind has a different nature from God. 

The section on human nature must be treated cautiously, because although all humans have the same human nature - we are not all the same. So we all do not exhibit every trait of human nature that is listed for you in the next chapter. However, the Bible teaches that humans are born with a nature that is basically sinful.
