Prefer not to
deal with this subject, but failure to do so would be negligence. So responsibility, and a sense of duty trump my own personal
feelings here.
The problem is corruption - and
specifically the corruption here in Canada. On this page is explained to Canadians
some of my own personal experiences of being the victim of
corruption here in Canada, and then add some thoughts. Perhaps people may assume
that I live in some protected shell, or am some rich person, whose wealth, privileges,
perks and social status protect him from exposure to the real world ordinary
citizens must face. Not so.
So what is the point of this exercise ? The
point is ...there is simply too much corruption, and this cannot be
ignored anymore. It is time to expose it, and time to start cleaning it
up.
One point must be
made very, very clearly. We all have God given free moral agency. The spiritual
is not being dealt with on this page. Most of our individual and
collective problems are spiritual in nature and are the
fruits of sin, and of too many people following their own carnal mind and nature
into sin . However, these are spiritual matters and there is virtually nothing
one small person can do here, except what pertains to their own personal life.
No
attempt is being made to convert people and change their hearts
here on this web page. Instead let us look at how we can aim higher in regards
to public standards of ethics, and start working to create a more positive and
more ethical societal environment. What can we do in practical terms to improve
the social climate here, so that honest folks, and others with still some
semblance of public morality - can live, function and even flourish ?
If
things keep going the way they are there will continue to be this downward
spiral into the gutter. I don't like living in a gutter. Do you ? So lets work
so our society gets out of the gutter, and cleans itself up a bit. In that way
our country will be a better place for all of us to live in. And yes we all have
free moral agency, and let God deal with men's hearts. However, lets work to
create a society that provides the soil and climate where honest, hard working,
law abiding and just the salt of the earth type person's - can live, survive and
even flourish.
So please do not try to put a
spiritual twist to what is being said here. Yes our real problems are spiritual in
nature, but that is not within our scope and power to do anything
about. That is
a spiritual matter between each person, and their Maker.
There
are things we can do to make our land a better place for all of us to live in.
Right now there is too much litter and garbage stinking the place up. So let us
roll up our collective sleeves and start cleaning it up. It isn't possible to
clean it all up, but we can make the place look fairly clean. Then most of us
will feel better about it. It is not fun to collectively live in a gutter, or a garbage
dump. So let's take our country and society out of the gutter, and out of the
dump.
Some Personal Examples of Being Cheated - How
Can We Change Matters ?
Auto Insurance
1. Do you own a vehicle ?
Do you drive ? Do you own a business that employs drivers ? Then you must be
aware of skyrocketing insurance premiums. Why are auto insurance premiums so
high ?
Have had a drivers license since around
age 21. Have never lost my license. Have never had any demerit points. Had only one (rather minor) traffic accident
where the insurance company had to pay out damages. Have only been ticketed for
a very few minor traffic offenses like speeding in Stanley Park, not wearing a
seat belt once, and naturally some seemingly inevitable parking tickets. Have
never been caught driving while impaired.
Our old
car had died. Bought another one, but the guy selling it cheated us (being
lied to and cheated by a used car salesman is quite common in Canada).
So bought another one, but it was too old, and soon died too. Was going through
some very challenging financial times and just couldn't afford
another vehicle, so ended up going without a vehicle, and naturally without
insurance - for about 5 years.
Well later on got
a little money scraped together and got another
vehicle. Unfortunately all those years of careful driving didn't amount to a
hill of beans, and had to start all over as a new driver. Used to pay about $
250 a year for minimum insurance coverage. Contacted the insurance company
we dealt with before, and they now wanted $ 1,600 a year for premiums.
Shopped
around and found the cheapest rate to be $ 800 a year. They promised that if I
had a good driving record (no accidents or convictions) then the rates would start going down in subsequent
years. Purchased an older car, and it died too. Well next year comes
along and low and behold they now want around $ 1,400 a year for premiums -
after promising that the rates would not be going up if I had a good driving
record. Cheated again. Lied to again. So what else is new ?
So
- couldn't afford to buy a vehicle, because the insurance is too high. So end up insuring
the old immobile car for fire and theft to keep up with the insurance (so next
time I would not have to start over as a new driver). The old car had been used to store empty bottles and cans. Well
in 2004 they insisted the vehicle be insured fully (which would cost
around $1,400 per year) - this is in spite of the fact that the car was immobile
- the motor was shot. So told them to shove it. I will not allow these people
to rob me. Then the lady at the insurance company threatens me by saying that if
the coverage lapses then I have to start as a new driver again later on,
and it will then cost double - about $3,000 per year for coverage. The
corporate thieves even threaten you, that if you won't let them rob you today, then they
threaten and try to bully you- by saying they will just steal more from you next
time.
Have driven most of my adult life. Have almost always had a vehicle. Yet here I
sit in Ralph's world - not even being able to drive my kids out to see the
mountains in our own vehicle. Our family cannot afford to own a
vehicle, because of corruption. For 5 years I and my kids never got out of
Calgary once ! What is wrong here ? The answer ? Corruption is eating the life out of this country. (this
article was written back in 2004 - we have been able to finally afford a vehicle
in May 2007 - so we are now motoring around, but still paying too much for
insurance).
The risk of me getting into a car
accident is very, very small. Why any insurance company wouldn't be happy to
insure such a low risk customer at a lower premium - is beyond my ability to understand.
There is almost no risk involved on their part. Am a very careful driver - the record proves it.
Why are my insurance rates so
high ? Corruption ! That's why !
There
are too many people trying to cheat the system. Too many who lie about their
injuries, and who exaggerate the extent of their injuries just to collect a
large settlement. Many people these days will sue at the drop of a hat. There
are too many crooked and sue happy Lawyers. Too many garages and auto body
shops who are milking the system, over charging, and doing repairs that are not
needed. Too many insurance
companies, who are just milking consumers - and we consumers are a captive
audience, because auto insurance is compulsory. There is too much
corruption.
The Alberta provincial government is in the pockets of big
business. They won't go to a government run auto insurance system, even though
statistics show that other provinces like Manitoba (who have government run auto
insurance) have much lower premium costs.
Yes
there are some legitimate reasons for some of the increases in premiums, like the
higher cost of repairing newer vehicles. However,
the lions share of the reasons people like me are subject to such high insurance
premiums - is simply corruption. And that is what it is folks. It is legalized
robbery. Profits in the insurance sector have gone way, way up. Legalized robbery. Some men rob you with a gun, while other's rob you with a fountain
pen.
It is a very, very serious problem. So many people
are spending so much of their disposable income on their vehicles.
We
need justice done here. The problem is especially serious with young male
drivers, who never had an accident. It has gotten to be so serious that now many
people are just taking their chances and driving without insurance.
The
whole system is collapsing right in front of our eyes due to corruption.
We
need to clean up this awful mess. This is a serious problem. Many people
are being cheated. We have to collectively fix this problem.
Too Many Rules
and
Regulations
2.
Cheated by all the rules the authorities make. I am expected to keep them, while
many others just pay lip service to all these rules or just ignore them. Why
should I be subject to a thousand laws, while others just ignore them
?
Since I claim to be a Christian - I follow
the Biblical laws regarding the respect for legitimate authority, and teach my
family to do the same.
The basic doctrine is that Christians are supposed to respect the
legitimate authorities,
and their legitimate authority. There is a big difference between legitimate
and illegitimate authority (I do not pay attention to the illegitimate laws and
illegitimate authority, and teach my family likewise). Respect the law as long as the law doesn't require you to
disobey God's laws. If there is a clash between man's laws and God's laws then
God's laws take precedent.
Romans 13:1-7 " Let every soul be subject
unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be
are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth
the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves
damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou
then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have
praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if
thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for
he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth
evil. Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for
conscience sake. For this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are
God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. Render
therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom
custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour. "
The problem is that there are too many rules, and the lawless and law
breakers just basically ignore the rules. I and my family, due to our religion,
are expected to respect the law and legitimate authority. Consequently we are in
chains while so many others (who disrespect the law and authority) are free from
the constraints of the rules. So we end up getting cheated.
And more often than not the rules are not enforced. So there is little
deterrent for many law breakers to respect the rules.
At my worksite I have over 100 rules to follow, and management can add new ones as they see
fit, and get rid at me at anytime for any
reason. My two daughters both went to Junior and High school here in
Calgary, and one is still in High School. Fortunately
they couldn't be kicked out of school without any reason, like I could lose
my job at the whim of the big boss.
At Sir John A Macdonald Junior High there were about 70
different rules, and each teacher in the six different classes had about five
rules each - this comes to a total of roughly 100 rules to follow.
At John G. Diefenbaker High School the school Agenda has about 100 rules. As well
there are about 8 different classes over two
semesters, and each teacher has about 6 rules. So there are approximately 125 rules at school.
Add to this all the many, many City of Calgary, Government of Alberta and
Government of Canada rules, laws and regulations we are subject to, and we are
just plain overburdened, and trapped in red tape, like helpless flies in a
spiders web.
Yet we are expected (due to our religion) to be subject to the higher powers.
In the meanwhile many others, just ignore the rules, or merely pay lip service
to them.
Cheated again.
3. Cheated by the packing
plants. Where is the cheap beef ?
Governments
in Canada have shelled out around $ 1,488,000,000 of tax payers money in
support of the beef industry, during the ongoing Madcow Crisis. Income for
producers is way down, yet beef prices in the stores for ordinary consumers like
me and my family have stayed fairly high. Why ? Just more corruption.
4. Cheated by
government and oil companies. Our resources are sold out
to foreigners, while we pay a high price for natural gas. Why should this be in
Alberta ?
The natural resources of Alberta belong to
Albertans. Yet these resources have been and are being sold out to foreigners at
unprecedented levels, particularly in the area of natural gas, forests and
oil.
Natural gas reserves in Alberta will
basically be almost all gone in roughly 20 years, if current rates of export and
utilization remain. Alberta and Canada are cold, and we need these
resources for ourselves, and our children in the future.
Yet
our famous rulers, who are in the pockets of big business, sell the resource out
to
foreigners. And they have never had any legitimate mandate to sell out these
resources. The FTA, NAFTA, have never been approved of by the
Canadian people in any kind of referendum.
I and my family
are Albertans, and we are being cheated out of our heritage by our rulers, who
sell out these precious resources to foreign interests.
Cheated
again. Why ? Corruption - that is why.
5.
Cheated by the media.
Most
of the established media these days is so corrupt, that it might be best for a
guy to just have absolutely nothing to do with them.
Have made all kinds of contacts with all kinds of media outlets and media
persons from coast to coast - asking for publicity for the House of Israel
Party. There has been almost no response. Yet the media has printed literally
millions of words about notorious killers and convicted criminals like Clifford
Olsen.
Murderers, thieves, criminals and other
assorted creeps and bums get all kind of time on the radio waves, on the
television and in the printed media.
Yet the leader of a political party in the process of formation, cannot get any kind of
publicity through the established media. Legitimate causes like that of the
concept of the House of Israel are ignored. Why ? Corruption by much
of the media - that is why !
6.
Cheated here in Alberta by the corrupt, political
system of equalization payments.
An Ontario economist's
report proves unfair economics are happening in Canada. The report is named,
Where the Money Goes: The Distribution of Taxes and Benefits in Canada, by Finn
Poschmann, - analyst with C.D. Howe Institute.
Basically the report
says " poor people in richer provinces commonly subsidize the
living standard of people who are better off but happen to live in poorer
provinces."
The report says " In Alberta, the average census family pays about
$6,000 to the federal government, while in Nova Scotia, the average family
receives $1,800 and families in New Brunswick with $50,000 to $60,000 in total
income are net contributors of 7% of income, while those of the same income
level in Alberta are net contributors of three times as much."
A 1999 report - Simply Sharing: An Interprovincial Equalization Scheme for
Canada, by Derek Hermanutz and Paul Boothe mention Poschmann's study and
conclude, "while an Alberta family with income of $30,000 to $40,000
contributes 9% of it, or about $3,150, a Newfoundland family with income of more
than $100,000 receives benefits equal to 1.2% or $1,200."
The principle of equalization is in the Constitutional Act 1982, but it is
being used for corrupt purposes - when it is being used to buy votes by federal
politicians in the East and Quebec, at the expense of Albertans like me.
I don't mind sharing the wealth with the legitimate needy (if I had it to
share) - but it must be a fair system of sharing. I am not a wealthy
person. The current system is obviously not fair for me here in Alberta. Cheated
again. Why ? It is the same old thing. Corruption. The current system of
equalization payments has been corrupted by corrupt federal politicians for
corrupt political purposes.
7. Calgary transit - fares are too high.
$
75.00 per month for an adult transit pass is excessive. Someone who is poor
needs to shell out $2.25 a crack for a bus ride, so they can look for
work. Too much.
The problem is made worse by the
fact that Calgary is so spread out. The city is designed around the automobile.
The industrial areas (particularly Foothills Industrial) are usually many miles
from the places where most people live. Thus the necessity of the long commute
for many. Thus the need for more and more very costly roads, and
interchanges.
People like me are cheated both ways. The
government and insurance companies conspire to cheat us regarding excessive
insurance premiums. So cheated am I here, that I cannot afford a vehicle, so am
forced to take mass transit. However, I am also taken advantage of by excessive
transit fares. And there is also the inevitable overcrowding on the major bus
routes. There doesn't seem to be much money for more buses, but lots of dough
for roads.
Have any of you ordinary transit riders
seen a politician or journalist
riding the bus ? Have you ever seen King Ralph riding the bus, or the Mayor, or
any of the Alderman ? Have you ever seen, or met any top city manager riding the bus,
especially those who manage the transit system ? These people for the most part
would be embarrassed to have to share a bus seat with ordinary people like me.
Why
are not us commuters, who take the bus not given a break ?
8.
Doggone dogs - In the City of
Calgary as of May 2007 there are around 100,000 dogs and a similar number of
cats.
When my children were small we lived in a basement
suite of a house in the Montgomery area in Calgary's NW. There were renters
upstairs as well. We had the backyard for ourselves and the upstairs tenants had
the front yard. We did not have any pets. My children were very small and were
frightened of dogs.
I was having severe problems with
the upstairs tenants, because of the many, many drunken noisy parties they would
have. Sometimes like three nights a week, and even more during the holidays.
There was poor insulation between apartments, and I am a light sleeper, and so
there were a lot of sleepless nights. The landlord was aware of the problem, but
did nothing. The police were called frequently, but very little was done.
One
day the tenant upstairs tied a dog to the tree right in the backyard. It was a
medium size animal - big enough to scare my kids, but not a Pit Bull, German
Shepard or any other sort of larger bred. The people upstairs had plenty of room
in front, but just blatantly decided to lay claim to the backyard as well. My
kids were scared of dogs. They played in the backyard, since our front door
opened up to the backyard. My kids were very small at the time - about 2 and 3
years old.
I took the dog, and locked it in our
washroom, and called Animal Services. The lady comes looking for her dog, and I
tell her I called Animal Services and the dog is safe and sound in my washroom.
Shortly afterwards I get a visit from the Police. I am no longer sure who showed
up first - the Animal Control Officer or the Police. I think it was animal
control.
The Animal Control Officer said to me
that the dog has right to that backyard too. He said that when the dog was in
the backyard - I was to take the kids and keep them inside until the dog was
gone, or until the dog left ! This in spite of the fact that the dog did not
even belong to the lady upstairs - she was just taking care of the dog for a
friend for a few days. So in other words - the dog was more important to that
City of Calgary By-law Officer then were my children. The dog to the Animal
Control Officer had more rights to our yard then my small kids did, who lived
there. Yet I was paying the rent ! Isn't that astonishing. Folks this is a true story.
The
Police come, and tell me that if I don't let the dog out of the bathroom I would
be charged with stealing. I did not immediately release the dog, but insisted on
making my point first. I brought up the point with them that the people upstairs
had the front yard and we had the back, and my kids were small and were scared
of dogs. The cops agreed with me that everything would be fine, if the
lady upstairs would just keep the dog in front. So this is what they told the
lady, and everything was fine. But isn't it amazing how a stinking dog is more
important to many people - even to an Animal Control Officer - then my children.
This is open and blatant discrimination against me and my kids, by the City of Calgary.
Horrific discrimination. How do you think my kids felt when a City of Calgary
By-law Officer gives a stinking dog more rights than them - saying that the dog
can displace them from their own home, and from their own backyard - that they
enjoyed so much to play in ?
My children are not
as important as dogs in Calgary. I had quite a few other encounters with
irresponsible dog owners. Once on Douglas Fir Trail I was hiking with my
small kids. This a beautiful trail and we were having a really fun day. This is
an area where dogs are required to be leashed. A young muscular man comes up from
behind us - wanting to pass us, and he has a dog, and the dog is loose.
The
dog comes up to us. It was a larger breed of dog. I myself am not afraid of
dogs, and can handle dogs very easily. However, my kids were small and did not
have my knowledge, experience and size. You have to realize that for a little
kid a bigger dog can be very frightening for them - especially if they are
unfamiliar with dogs. There is a little 30 or 40 pound kid, with a 70 pound dog
coming at them, and maybe trying to jump on them. Dog owners should understand
this, but many just don't give a damn.
Anyways the
dog comes up to us, and starts sniffing the kids. I mention to the man to please
keep his dog under control. I realized that the dog was just sniffing around,
and would not harm us, but the kids were crying, and this incident was ruining
our pleasant day. The owner did not have any consideration towards us, and
did not respond when I asked him to keep his dog under control. The dog comes up
to us and won't go away - the kids are screaming and crying. I kick at the dog
to chase it away. The owner then walks up to me and attacks me physically.
I was not going to let him bully, intimidate and beat me up. I have to defend my
children, and myself. So we had a fight right there on the path. It was a
physical attack. The young man initiated the attack. He was around 30 years old,
and very muscular. I am no weakling, and I gave him a good battle. I could have
been serious injured or murdered. After the incident I had a bloody nose
and reported the assault to the Police. My youngest daughter was so traumatized
and frightened that she poohed in her pants. This is not funny. I and my family
have been treated like junk in this City.
I
noticed afterwards that there was for quite awhile much more strict enforcement
of the by-laws regarding dogs being leased on Douglas Fir Trail.
I
had previous experiences with Animal Services. I had made a number of complains
of loose dogs in places where dogs were not supposed to be, or were supposed to
be leashed, like in playgrounds, and in parks. We went to the park regularly.
The children just loved the park. One day we were in the playground at Edsworthy
Park. There was a guy there who had two dogs - both were loose, and one was a
Pit Bull. The owner was having the Pit Bull cling to the seat of the swing by
its teeth. The Pit Bull was just hanging there, and the owner was showing off
and swaggering. There were a bunch of school kids at the park that day on a
field trip, and the guy was showing off how his dog could cling to the seat of
the swing with its teeth.
I walk up to him with our
small baby in my arms. I mention to the man that there was a sign right there
that said there were to be no dogs within a certain distance of the playground,
and I pointed out to him the sign that was right there a few feet away. He said
he could not read !
So what I did was to go up to
the other dog, and start looking for the number on its dog tag. I was prepared
to get the dog tag number, and report him to animal services. He backed off
right in front of all the school kids, who had stopped to watch the encounter.
He left muttering the words, " you have a lot of balls. "
I
am a jogger, and one day at the same park I was almost attacked, and almost
bitten by a loose German Shepard. In the park, if there is no sign in the park
clearly stating this is an off lease area, then it is an area where dogs are restricted,
or required to be leashed. I called Animal Services, and the Animal Control
Officer said that the area in question was an off leash area, but I knew
this to be untrue. So I called up his supervisor, and explain the matter, and
sure enough I was right. The Animal Control Officer did not even know the rules
he was supposed to enforce in the park ! Amazing incompetence ! There were
a number of other occasions where I reported loose dogs to Animal Control,
because my kids were very small, and they were afraid of dogs, and would cry
when one came up to them, and large dogs are potentially dangerous for small
children. Small children have been killed by dogs in Canada.
Some
owners told me I was making too much of a fuss - their dogs just wanted to play
and were harmless, etc, etc. The point is this. Dog owners like dogs. It is
their right to have a dog, and to take them to places where they can exercise
them and have fun. They have rights as dog owners. However, not everyone loves
dogs like they do. It is my right not to have a dog. It is the right of children
and families not to be harassed by dogs in the park, if they don't want to be.
It is a matter of respect. However, too many dog owners have no respect towards
others, especially parents with small, vulnerable children.
The
Canada Safety Council estimates that dogs bite 460,000 Canadians annually:
The Canada Safety Council says that " most dog bite victims are
children, " and " small children should never be left alone with
a dog. "
I and my kids were cycling near our home and were going through the back
alley. A loose dog comes up to me and bites me on the finger. This time I get
justice. I go to the Doctor to get stitched up, and get my tetanus shots. Called
up Animal Control. They come over, and take pictures of the stitches in my
finger, and lay charges against the irresponsible dog owner.
Another incident happened when I was jogging early in the
morning in the NE. It was very early and I had to pass through a gate to access
the area along the Nose Creek pathway. There is a ridge, which can easily be
seen from Deerfoot Trail when one first enters Calgary from the north. There is
a place to walk and jog up on the ridge, and more room down by the bicycle trail
near Nose Creek. It is an off leash area.
Well I
was jogging along one early morning, and was prepared to pass through the gate.
There was this older woman with an enormous Doberman. This was a huge dog, and
it was loose. I am not afraid of dogs, and know how to deal with them on the
trail. But even I was a bit leery about this monstrous hound. The dog kind of
woofed towards me, and I stopped and kept my distance. The lady and the dog
wanted to go through the same narrow entrance gate that I wanted to go through.
The
older woman gets her leash and leashes the dog up, but she begins muttering. She
said that she did not understand why us joggers jogged up there on the ridge, rather
than down by the trail. " Why don't you people jog down on the trail,
instead of up here ? " she said angrily. This got me upset. I said to
her that it is okay for here dog to run up here, but for her it was not okay for
me to run up on the ridge. Then she responds and replies, " No that isn't
what I said. " Then I answer back, and tell her plainly that that is exactly
what she said. Her huge dog can run up there, but she doesn't think I
should be allowed to do the same. In other words her dog is more important, and
takes precedent over human beings. Incredible discrimination directed towards
me.
In Calgary many people care far more for their
dogs then they do for their human neighbours. I have encountered this sort of
perverse, twisted, corrupt attitude constantly here in Calgary.
Sure
there are responsible dog owners. And yes there are many Calgarians who do have
their priorities straight regarding their dogs. However, there are way too many
in this city, who treat their dogs far better than they treat their fellow human
beings, and who care far more for their dog then they do for me and my
family.
9.
Cheated by a former employer.
In
Canada it seems like many folks love their neighbours at church on Sundays, but
go for each other's throats at work on Mondays.
Have a very depressing story of being cheated by a former employer. However,
when the severance package was offered - after being laid off - they cleverly protected
their butts, by getting me to sign some papers where I agreed to never
disclose what went on at work - if I did not sign then I was not eligible for
the severance money.
Figured that seeing these
corporations have tons of money to hire very expensive Lawyers, and me being quite
poor - it would be an exercise in futility to try and address the injustices. And the court system is corrupt anyways. And who would
the Judge believe - a lady manager, or an older bearded white male. Hah ! There
wasn't a hope in hell to get justice here in this corrupt system. There
is only hope in the life after - in the resurrection and in the Judgment where
Christ will judge each of our lives. He will judge this matter. It is not
forgotten and buried. Management and corporations can hide behind all kind of
legal fences and barriers - but they cannot hide from God. Christ will judge
these matters. There is hope for justice.
It isn't really pleasant
the many corrupt shenanigans that go on in the corporate, and business
world.
So - just signed and took the severance
money. So am not allowed legally to publicly deal with the matter and disclose
information, without risking a law suit.
This
is common practice companies and corporations use to protect themselves, and hide
from the public the actions (far too often corrupt actions) of management. Sure
employers need to protect themselves. We are living in a sue happy society, and
Judges can award millions to real or perceived victims. I heard a Lawyer say
that employers these days would be foolish not to protect themselves in this
way.
Yet we never used to have much of, if any of
this legal stuff many years back. Is it not just another serious symptom that we
are living in such corrupt times, that workers are being forced to sign all
kinds of legal papers and contracts - that are basically designed to protect the
corporation's collective butts ?
How sad and
depressing. Far too many Canadians are cheated by employers - this is a
monumental problem.
10. Cheated by government immigration
policy.
Immigrants are being treated better than me, and ordinary Canadians like me.
11.
Cheated at church Why
should honest church goers be hounded and put out of the church by corrupt
clergymen ? It is time to fix this problem.
12.
Cheated by
criminals like in BC where the illicit marijuana trade is a
billion dollar industry.
The illegal marijuana
trade may now be British Columbia's second largest industry right behind
forestry. Gangsters, and criminals are flourishing, while ordinary, honest working
people are taxed to death, over regulated and cheated.
Welcome
to Canada - the haven of drug smugglers and dope addicts.

has an estimated 20,000 or so marijuana grow operations, with around 120,000 or
so persons growing the stuff. The dollar worth of the illegal marijuana is
estimated to be around $ 5 billion or more. About 95 % of this is
apparently exported illegally to the good old USA.
Apparently
only the manufacturing sector in BC has more workers than the illegal pot
industry. However, there is no clear data on marijuana production and sales, so
the figures given are estimates at best.
Whatever,
way one slices or smokes it - we are dealing with one humungous billion dollar
illegal drug trade in British Columbia - and it is a growing concern in other
parts of the country too. Marijuana in BC is now so part of the
economy and culture that it may soon be politically impossible to eradicate
it.
Criminals are prospering while honest working
people, are suffering. As it stands now, growers and distributors pay some of
the costs and reap all the benefits of the multi-billion dollar marijuana
industry, while the non-marijuana-smoking
tax payer sees only costs.
Welcome to Canada - the doped up, corrupt great white
north. Cheated again.

Cheated by a lot of the rich - a long twisted tale - please wait for the
story.
There are a lot of incidents that come to mind,
but perhaps this one true story will illustrate the mentality of too many of the
rich towards ordinary people like me.
I and my
family - my wife and two girls - were on a pleasant outing a few years back to
Fish Creek Provincial Park, which snakes through south Calgary. We have been
there many times, and it is a wonderful place to enjoy nature.
We
were on the western edge of the park. High up on the southern edge of the park
are many very expensive homes. There is a terrific view from up there, and most
of the homes right up on the ridge bordering the park are mansions. This is no
place for poor folks. These are multi-million dollar mansions.
Well
there is one place on the southern edge of the park towards the west end where
you can actually climb up the steep slope and access part of the ridge, yet
still be within park boundaries. The park boundary runs right up to the fences
of the expensive houses - way up on the high southern ridge of Fish Creek. So
this one day I decided to take the family up that slope, and walk around up
there to enjoy nature and the view.
I saw an older
white haired man on his balcony. We were perfectly within our rights to be up
there, since this is park land and public property. Well he sees us, and
obviously did not like the unwashed masses venturing too near his land. He yells
out to me, " Did you see the bear ? " He said that just a few
minutes before we came up there, he had seen a bear go in the same direction we
were going.
This kind of at first startled me, and
I was almost ready to turn around. However, I got kind of suspicious, since we
had seen no bear signs up there, and in fact we have never, ever encountered any
bears there. It was also the season of the year where there were no berries
around for a bear to eat. Why would a bear want to climb way up there on the
ridge - when there was no food there ? Do bears like to see the view ?
It
suddenly dawned upon me what the rich old man was trying to do. He wanted to
frighten us off, so he could just have that part of the park all to himself, and
his rich neighbours. And he was prepared to lie to do it.
I
yelled out to him that I wasn't worried about any bears, and we just kept on
going to our destination. There naturally was no bear, but there was a lot of
deer and deer signs up there.

Cheated out of a clean neighbourhood. We try to keep our area clean,
yet the neighborhood often looks like a dump. Why ? Do some people prefer
to live in a slum and dump ?
Had the opportunity
to take a vacation in Edmonton in the fall of 2003, and we have been there
since. The first thing we noticed was how clean Edmonton was compared to Calgary.
It was a remarkable
difference.
Calgary has a reputation as a fairly
clean city, and it is in the more posh and rich sections. In the poorer, more
working class areas it is not as clean as it could be. Bus shelters are often
very, very dirty.
You can see the difference with
rental accommodations versus private property. Pride of ownership seems to kick
in strongly, and most owners seem to keep their places up fairly well.
Apartment
complexes are different stories, since those living there are renters, not the
owners. As well there are so many
very transient people nowadays - who just keep moving around. Why one should
have different standards of cleanliness if one rents, or owns - escapes my
reasoning. When you rent by the month - that is your home for the month. So why
foul your nest ?
It is a matter of manners. Why
should one have bad manners, just because the area one lives in is poorer ? Why
? Who says poor folks should be dirty.
Why should
there be so much garbage and junk laying around ? Is it once again
a matter of corruption, and corruption of manners ? Seems likely.

Cheated by all the vandalism. We don't do that,
yet we suffer the consequences of this form of corruption. How many others have
the same problem ?
Vandalism
is a huge concern throughout the country. This is no different where my family
lives. Why is there so much vandalism ? Is this just another symptom
of a corrupt society, and a corrupt culture ?
Much
of this vandalism has no logic behind it. It is an act of willful
destruction. We had a large sunflower head ripped right off the stalk right from
out of our yard, when we went out one day. Yet the seeds were not even ripe, and so were not even filled
out. So stealing it was senseless.
Vandalism is an
act of destruction, and may have something to do with the vandals lack of
opportunity to contribute within society in a productive manner.
We
need to open up more avenues for productive participation.

Cheated by people who let
their kids run wild - stolen and damaged property.
Not to brag, but honesty my two kids
have been taught to respect their neighbour's, and their neighbour's property, and
they do it. And if they don't, then they will have to deal with ME. Too bad there are so many parents who have not
returned the favour of teaching their own flesh and blood to respect their
neighbour's rights and property.
Have lived for
around 10 years in our current apartment. Out of control kids are a major
problem. They smash things, like fences. They often trespass on other's rented
property wantonly. They will rip and tear up plants and flowers, if given a
chance to.
A garage just across the back alley was
burnt down by some young punks. Heard their voices at night when the blaze
started. An act of arson. The annex to the local catholic school was torched -
with damage in the hundreds of thousands. One morning a few years back there were numerous
car windows smashed on our street.
Once
confronted some young punks who were rampaging around and playing - totally out
control in our fenced back yard. They were wrestling, and shouting loudly.
So grabbed the one young punk, and broke up the wanton skirmish he was involved
in with this young girl. He was right on top of her. Tossed him onto the soft
grass, and told him to get the hell out of our yard. He runs off - frightened -
which was my aim. He tells Mommy and she comes over screaming and swearing. These people had just moved here from Newfoundland. Mommy is very abusive,
swearing like a drunken sailor, and screaming to get my hands off her kid,
or she will lay assault charges. She yells that I was violent,
and she doesn't want her kid to learn violence.
Tell them again that their kid and the others were trespassing.
Talk to the
Father of the kid, when the Dad gets home from work. Get a more reasonable
response. Yet even he says I must not touch his precious offspring, and that I
was definitely violent and this just teaches more violence - was his opinion.
Yet this kid was bullying the other kids in the neighbourhood, and in fact the
police were called to deal with him beating up some other kid or kids. And then
Mommy and Daddy say I am teaching their kid violence, while their
precious Johnny is out merrily bullying and beating up other kids. His kids were
trespassing on the property of their next door neighbour, and the poor man was resorted
to call the police. Talked personally to this man. He was totally upset with
these out of control boys.
Yet these people
claimed I was violent, because I threw their kid on the soft grass and told him
forcefully to get out of our fenced yard - where they had come uninvited and
where there were wrestling around violently.
This
sort of thing has been routine fare in our neighbourhood. We have had our bicycles
and the neighbours bikes stolen right from our fenced yard. Our neighbours
vehicle was damaged. It just goes on and on.
There
are no problem kids - just problem parents. In fact I once yelled at
some gang of boys who were milling around in the back alley, just hanging around
looking to cause mayhem. Yelled at them that I did not blame them so much as
their parents - and amazingly one of the young punks agreed. Yes
folks - there are no problem children - just problem parents. These kids
need direction. They need discipline, and they need parents to pay attention to
them and do useful things together. They need love and attention, and too many
of them are not getting it. So they act up, and are rebellious.
These
are just more symptoms of a corrupt society.
And I have to suffer
because of parents who don't love and discipline their kids
properly.

solutions.
18. Violence and crime on
our street.
We
had a pedophile arrested just two apartments over - a few years
back. The pervert was preying on kids from other areas, and bringing them
here. Welcome to Pedophile Street.
There was a
shooting around 5 years back, right in front of our apartment. There were empty
shell casing scattered over the street. There is a bullet
hole still there in the shed across the street.
There was
a stabbing.
We had a murder - suicide a few blocks from
our neighbourhood a few years back - the mother of a little boy in my daughters
class was the victim.
The Calgary Police
Helicopter has been seen and heard whirling over our neighbourhood, and adjacent
neighbourhoods quite often. Once the light from the spot light skimmed right
over my bedroom window.
A few springs back I was up late and went to the yard
to cover some plants. It was very dark. Hear a dog barking and growling, and a
man screaming in the back alley. Thought someone was being mugged or murdered. Go over there with the hammer I was using to pound in some stakes.
Get
close and yell out into the pitch black darkness " What's going on ? "
Someone shouts, " Calgary Police - go back inside !
"
It was a take down by the Canine Unit
. Apparently the cops had some sort of choke hold on the suspect, and he was
resisting and screaming. Welcome to my neighbourhood.

Cheated out of a peaceful neighbourhood by all the partying, loud music and general trouble making - we don't do
that.
Used to live in this one place in the
west end in the Montgomery area. Very beautiful, with a lovely view of the Bow
Valley, and the ridge on the other side. Close to the river, and to the park.
Used to go jogging down by the Bow River.
Unfortunately
the place we lived in had very poor insulation between floors, and the various
tenants upstairs loved to drink and party. And not just party once a month, but
a couple times a week. It is amazing at how much some folks party,
especially around the holiday season.
Complaints
with the landlord got nowhere. Started calling the cops, because of all
the partying, and not getting sleep. It was useless. The cops themselves
could do virtually nothing. They could only issue a warning, and if there was
another complaint within a 24 hour period they could then issue a ticket to the
offender. However, if there was a gap of more than 24 hours then they would
have to go through the whole warning procedure again.
The
drunkards and partiers just basically laugh at the cops and at complaining
neighbours. The only thing that can keep them in check is the landlord. But if
the landlord doesn't give a damn (and many landlords don't care) then you are screwed, if
victimized by this sort of abuse.
That
is what happened to me. The one cop said that my only option was to
move.
The cops came over so many times that I
became friends with them. Found out that morale among the Police back in the
early 1990's here in Calgary was rock bottom. Whether this has changed since - don't know.
We were punished by
being good neighbours. The noisy partying gang of drunkards just kept
right on a partying. So we end up having to move.
For
some strange reason I feel there are a lot of tenants, who have had the same
problem as me.
The real culprits here are negligent
landlords. Just more corruption. So what else is new ?

Corruption
is a very, very serious problem in Canada. However, much of it is covered up.
Many, many people here in Canada are innocent victims of corruption. We have to
do something about this. This is very serious business.
These matters
of being a victim of corruption is just the fulfillment of the
prophecy regarding the Philadelphia Era of the true Church
Revelation
3:10 "
because you have patiently obeyed me despite the persecution - I will keep you
from the hour of temptation which shall come upon the whole world to test them.
"
Honest hard working people are
constantly being cheated, and the society has become in general very corrupt.
Canada has
become a very corrupt country.
The whole world is
corrupt, but Canada is corrupting its ways faster than most of the world.
The
corruption has to be dealt with, because it is preventing us from dealing with
many other issues, like the high cost of the health care system, high taxes,
government waste, crime, family breakdown, etc.
Many people are my enemies for no reason. Why ?
John 17:14-16 " I have given them thy word; and the
world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of
the world. I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but
that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as
I am not of the world. "
John 15:18-20 " If the world hate you, ye know that
it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would
love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of
the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto
you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they
will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
"
It isn't me they hate, but the ones who live in me they hate - God the Father and Jesus Christ.
Saul hounded and persecuted the early Christians. Saul was on his way to Damascus with authority to arrest and bring back to
Jerusalem - Christians - the followers of Christ in chains.
Saul saw a bright light shining in the sky.
Acts 9:4-6 " And he fell to the earth, and
heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he
said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest:
it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. And he trembling and
astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him,
Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do. "
Saul was persecuting Jesus Christ when he was persecuting God's true
servants. Jesus said to Saul, " Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
"........ Saul was persecuting Christ when he was persecuting Christ's true
servants.
It is the same today, because Jesus Christ never changes (Hebrews 13:8). It's not me that people hate - it's Christ living in me
that they hate.
Jesus Christ takes this hatred and persecution of His servants personally.
